The GEM
The GEM (Grand Egyptian Museum) is the new, large Egyptian museum built at the edge of the Giza Plateau. It has become the largest Egyptian museum in the world. Among other highlights, it houses the colossal statue of Ramses II and the entire treasure of Tutankhamun.
The Giza Necropolis
The Giza Necropolis is Egypt’s most important burial site. It includes the three large pyramids – the Pyramid of Khufu (also known as the Great Pyramid of Giza or Pyramid of Cheops, the largest of all), the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure – as well as the Great Sphinx of Giza.
